Description

It has been carved in marble by Giambologna around 1575 for the Buontalenti’s Grotto in the Boboli Garden in Florence. The Venus, ready to enter in the water of the fountain, is famous for her elegance.
The mold used to execute the bronze work using the lost-wax casting process was produced directly in 1938 by Ferdinando Marinelli Sr., and is currently in the collection of the Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli
