San Matthew has been ordered to Ghiberti in 1419 by the Banker\u2019s Guild, and was finished in 1422, after that the first cast of 1421 did not succeed (and Ghiberti had to pay the second cast). The statue is now inside the Orsanmichele Museum, and the one outside the Church has been cast by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fonderiamarinelli.it\/monumenti\/2000-oggi\/san-matteo-del-ghiberti-sostituzione-2007\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli<\/a>.<br \/>\nThe mold used to execute the bronze work using the lost-wax casting process was produced directly on the original and is currently in the collection of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fonderiamarinelli.it\/\" title=\"FAFM\" target=\"_blank\">Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/galleriabazzanti.it\/en\/autori\/lorenzo-ghiberti\/\" title=\"Lorenzo Ghiberti\"><em>Lorenzo Ghiberti<\/em><\/a><br \/>\nLost-wax casting of bronze statuary sculpture molded from the original by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fonderiamarinelli.it\/\" title=\"FAFM\" target=\"_blank\">Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli<\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nHeight: 8&#039;
