Description
An absolute masterpiece of the Florentine Renaissance, Lorenzo Ghiberti’s “Gates of Paradise” represent the historic pinnacle of sculptural art and the great tradition of master bronze casters. Created between 1425 and 1452 for the Baptistery of San Giovanni in Florence, this monumental work fuses biblical narrative with a revolution in perspective through ten narrative panels, brought to life by extraordinary bas-reliefs and a gilded finish.
More than just a monument, the Gates of Paradise stand as an enduring testament to the value of the lost-wax casting technique—a meticulous process in which fire, precision bronze casting, and the patient art of chasing transform raw material into pure sculptural harmony.
At our Ferdinando Marinelli Artistic Foundry and Bazzanti Art Gallery in Florence, we preserve and renew this dialogue between artisanal tradition and aesthetic inquiry every day, giving form and permanence to every sculpture with the passion of those who see the living voice of art within the metal.
